Narrative CVs: What they are and why they matter – ExPECT
The video explains the concept of the narrative CV, which offers a more comprehensive approach to evaluating researchers' contributions compared to traditional CVs. Unlike traditional CVs that focus on a list of achievements, the narrative CV emphasizes the "how" and "why" behind a researcher's work, highlighting their diverse skills, experiences, and impact on their field, research teams, and the development of others. This approach is aligned with initiatives such as DORA and CoARA, promoting assessment beyond mere publication metrics.
CoARA ExPECT, supported by CoARA Boost funding, represents a collaborative initiative involving the University of Oulu, Ruhr University Bochum, and Tampere University. The Teaming project from Cascade Funding Call 1 actively advances CoARA's vision to reform researcher assessment practices. The video catalogue produced by the CoARA ExPECT project has been formally endorsed by the CoARA Steering Board and is available on the CoARA Collection: http://www.coara.org/collection
