Assessment situations processes and actors: What, who and how – ExPECT

Researcher assessment occurs beyond appointments, including promotions, salary
negotiations, funding decisions, and leadership selections. Assessments may target individuals or groups, but criteria designed for organisational evaluation should not be applied to individuals. Each assessment should be purpose-driven, planned with those being assessed, and based on pre-announced criteria. The process must be transparent, with clear communication of outcomes and feedback to all candidates.

CoARA ExPECT, supported by CoARA Boost funding, represents a collaborative initiative involving the University of Oulu, Ruhr University Bochum, and Tampere University. The Teaming project from Cascade Funding Call 1 actively advances CoARA's vision to reform researcher assessment practices.
