Towards an inclusive evaluation of research: In conversation with Giuliana Rubbia

As part of CoARA's Working Group interview series filmed in Graz, Austria, Dr. Giuliana Rubbia explores the importance of inclusivity in research assessment practices to foster fairer conditions and health work environments for researchers and academics.
Dr. Giuliana Rubbia was the Co-Chair of the CoARA Working Group Towards an Inclusive Evaluation of Research (TIER) and represents INGV.

In the interview, Giuliana highlights the work of WG TIER to mitigate gender bias in academia and emphasizes the importance of engaging ministries and leadership in the process. Through a dissemination tour of the group's main outputs and recommendations, WG TIER has strengthened connections with CoARA National Chapters with an aim to implement reform assessment practices to support gender equality and DEI on the local level.

WG TIER is currently developing a self-assessment tool to support institutions to counteract bias in research evaluation. Stay tuned to learn more about the tool!
